A Golf holiday specialist has tipped Donald Trump’s planned golf course in Aberdeen to be a future venue for the Ryder cup.
Jerry Quinlan whose company, Jerry Quinlan’s Celtic Golf, has gone into its 17th year, has reviewed the plans for the course and believes that it could be one of the best in the world. He has said it will probably be large enough to host any competition, such as the Ryder Cup, where top golfers from Europe and America compete each year.

The course that Mr Trump is building has forever been a furiously debated issue.

The plans, which propose for it to be built along with a hotel and several houses, have been put on hold due to complications between it and a planned offshore local wind farm that developers claim is “crucial” for the future of the area.

Mr Trump has written to First Minister Alex Salmond over the issue but still feels confident that construction of his course will be completed ahead of schedule.

A final decision is expected soon over the future of the area, which is already home to many golf courses including Castle Stewart, which is the current home of the Scottish Open.
