Chef admits racially abusing a police officer

Daniel Dewars admitted racially abusing PC Gavin Ash, who is English, at Bar Korova at Aberdeen's Bridge Street.

Aberdeen Sherriff Court heard PC Ash had been asked to go to the bar after Dewars, 22, started shouting and swearing at staff after they had woken him up after falling asleep.

Dewars also admitted uttering threats of violence.

Defence agent John Hardie said Dewars had "far too much to drink" when he committed the offence, on March 24 last year.

Dewars, whose address was given as 8 Promenade Road, Aberdeen, had his sentence deferred by Sheriff Edward Savage for background reports.
