Rangers star Sone Aluko bought out his contract with Aberdeen for around £150,000 so that he could play for Rangers.

But now he is one of the players that may face the axe as Rangers Administrators are set to cut spending by up to £1million per month.

Aluko left Aberdeen in July 2011 and went on trial with Juventus where he was unsuccessful. He next moved on trial to Rangers who were impressed highly with the winger and offered him a contract.

His career with Rangers so far has been impressive, scoring 4 goals in 12 appearances, close to matching the 7 goals he scored with Aberdeen over 82 appearances. He is thought to be one of the favourites for the chop as being one of the highest earners for the club and one of those that can be expendable. However, he has been used as a striker in recent weeks, a position where Rangers are very week.

It could be that after spending only 4 months with Rangers, he could have spent more on his own transfer than it cost him to move to the current SPL champions in the first place.
