Redevelopment work is set to begin on Aberdeen’s Duthie Park.
The 44-acre park is being renovated to take it back to its Victorian roots
The redevelopment is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Aberdeen City Council, and a turf-cutting ceremony will be headed this afternoon by Aberdeen's Lord Provost, Peter Stephen.
The ceremony will also feature an original wheelbarrow from 1881, which was traditionally used in turf cutting.
The park opened in 1883 when Lady Elizabeth Duthie donated the land to the local council.
