Aberdeen will be visited by Brazilian delegates from Sao Paolo to strengthen business links between the two areas.

The visiting delegates represent a range of energy firms and production companies.

Among the companies being represented is Petrobras who plan to visit a number of locations including Aberdeen Harbor and Robert Gordon University.

The visit will provide a chance for Aberdeen companies to speak with members of the delegation one-to-one.

On Thursday evening the council are hosting a dinner for the delegates as well as whiskey tasting and various presentations.

Gordon McIntosh, Aberdeen City Council director of enterprise, planning and infrastructure, said: “We recognize Sao Paolo as Brazil’s number on city and the financial centre of the nation.”

"This visit is continuing and building on our well-established relationship with Sao Paolo and the wider nation."
